How are roommates assigned?

Students have the option of selecting roommates by providing the name of their preferred roommate when they submit the online housing contract, or the student may participate in the random assignment process. Only students who have completed and returned housing contracts can be considered for roommate selection.

When selecting a roommate, students need to know the names of the other roommates as well as their OHIO ID. Roommate requests must be mutual to be honored.

To request a room change, visit your MyHousing page and submit a request to change rooms via the "Request a Room Change" button. Once your request is received, you will be contacted by a Residential Housing staff member within two business days to provide you with options and instructions for completing a room change.
