Is public transportation available?

Public Transportation

On Campus

Ohio University Campus Area Transit Service (CATS) provides transportation for university students, faculty, staff and visitors throughout campus.  Best of all, it's FREE!  No pass or ID is needed to ride.  Just look for one of our many bus stop signs around campus and hop on a CATS shuttle.  It's that easy!  For your convenience, arrival times are marked at each stop.

Campus Area Transportation Cutting Across Boundaries (CATCAB) is a service provided through Transportation and Parking Services for individuals with mobility limitations.  Using the shuttle system, CATCAB is designed to serve people with temporary or permanent disabilities that would otherwise make crossing campus difficult.

Off Campus

The Lakefront Lines charter bus service offers transportation from Athens to Columbus, Ohio.

The GoBus is a rural inter-city bus service that offers transportation from Athens to a variety of destinations.

Athens Airport Shuttle offers daily service to and from Athens and Port Columbus International Airport by reservation.
